When setting up or changing a brand-new heating system, it's important to work with an engineer that is certified and signed up with Gas Safe. This will make sure that the work is done correctly and there are no leaks or other problems with your gas supply. A gas safe engineer will top off your pipework when the work is complete to ensure it is not tampered with in the meantime. It is not currently a legal requirement for house owners to have their gas devices inspected but it is suggested. Landlords, nevertheless, need to get their devices examined and have a legitimate CP12 gas safety certificate to prevent fines and other charges. A CP12 can only be released by an engineer who is Gas Safe signed up, so constantly ask to see their credentials before scheduling any work.
